Why Workflow is Important

I posted the polished version of my Nesta fanart a while ago…but I left this part out. I really don’t like the pose I gave her, even though it helped with getting the dress shape to pop out. Originally…I thought it was a power pose to have her knuckles against the dress and arms sticking out.

But it just looks awkward. So I tried to change it.

And uh…what I learned is that any major pose changes should be done *before* putting in all the colors/lighting/details.

Why? My workflow is chaotic, which means the layers are…many, and everywhere. So as you can see in this video, I had to search through to find different things and try to delete them in the new areas for the hands/arms. It wasn’t going well, and was creating more work.

This video alone was sped up from 40 minutes.

So I gave up on the idea of changing her pose and accepted the drawing for what it was.
